Organisation

The Forum is governed by its members through the Annual General Meeting.

Our most recent AGM was held on: Wednesday 5 July, 6 – 8pm at: Soho Walk In Health Centre, 1 Frith Street, W1D 3HZ.

Please sign up to our e-newsletter by emailing anna.doyle@planforsoho.org.uk to keep updated on our work and to receive notification of our 2018 AGM dates, which will be held in Summer 2018.

During the year the Forum is guided by its Steering Group, which is currently chaired by Matthew Bennett. The role of the Steering Group is to co-ordinate, implement and monitor the work of the Forum. It speaks on behalf of the Forum and also prioritises, schedules and publicises the Forum’s activities.

Currently, the Steering Group has 16 members who were elected at the Annual General Meeting in 2017, plus 2 co-opted members. You can find more details about the Steering Group members here

Elections for the Steering Group are held each year at the Annual General Meeting.

The Forum also has three Policy Development Teams (PDT’s), which are focused on the three issues respondents to our 2016 and 2017 public consultation survey’s which identified as most important: the Environment, Housing and Soho’s heritage, culture and commerce. The PDT’s have also evolved from six Working Groups in 2015/16, which covered the following areas: Commercial; Environment; Getting Around; Heritage; Living in Soho; and Working in Soho.

The PDT’s are vital to what we do. They are and will continue to develop policies which to be part of a Neighbourhood Plan and gather evidence which will shape those policies. Anyone who can contribute ideas, skills, knowledge and time to this process is welcome to play a part in any of our areas of work.

By 2018/19 the Forum hopes to be able to propose a Neighbourhood Plan. This plan will then be voted on in a local referendum of both residents and businesses, organised by Westminster City Council. It is therefore important for the Forum to work collaboratively to produce a plan which has broad support.
